Thrive Apprentice

  • Accept PayPal Payments Directly: You can now take PayPal payments natively in Thrive Apprentice, alongside Stripe and Square, without routing sales through a third-party checkout.
  • Connect PayPal From Your Dashboard: Connect and disconnect your PayPal account from Settings > Payments > PayPal, with per-account connection status, a payment-method capability grid, and guidance if your PayPal email still needs confirming.
  • Embedded PayPal Checkout: Buyers can purchase one-time products through an embedded PayPal checkout, paying with their PayPal balance or card (including guest checkout), without leaving your course page.
  • PayPal Subscriptions: Sell recurring access with PayPal subscriptions, including automatic renewals, a grace period for failed payments, and automatic access revocation once retries are exhausted.
  • Free Trials for Subscriptions: Offer a free-trial period on PayPal subscriptions, so buyers get access for a set number of days before their first payment is taken.
  • Buyers Can Cancel Their Own Subscription: Members can cancel their PayPal subscription themselves from the front end.
  • Subscriptions on the Edit Member Screen: PayPal subscriptions appear as a single grouped entry on the Edit Member screen, with trial and subscription badges and an expandable charge history.
  • Google Pay & Venmo: Buyers can pay with Google Pay in the PayPal checkout, and the Venmo button now follows its checkout-method toggle.
  • Pay Later Messaging: Eligible buyers see PayPal Pay Later messaging on the product page and in the checkout when their PayPal account supports it.
  • Checkout Method Controls: Choose which payment methods appear at checkout, and the card form is collapsed by default and expands when a buyer selects it.
  • Refund From the Order Admin: You can issue a full PayPal refund directly from a member’s access screen; refunding removes the member’s access and cancels any linked subscription.
  • PayPal Debug ID in Orders: PayPal transactions now record and display PayPal’s Debug ID in the order admin, so support can locate any transaction in PayPal’s logs.
  • Clean Wind-Down on Disconnect: Disconnecting PayPal cleanly winds down active subscriptions: they are cancelled at the end of their current billing period, and you are shown how many will be affected before you confirm.
